Pilates is a physical fitness regime developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. He used to refer it to as “Contrology”. It’s a growing trend among youngsters, and although Pilates gained popularity in US and UK, recently is becoming very popular in India as well. People practice Pilates for general fitness, for muscle conditioning and sometimes for treatment of lower back pain as well. Well, we are not very sure about its medical benefits but it sure gives you great body and that’s a fact. Pilates are designed to give a flexible body with stamina and endurance; it’s great for your posture as well. A number of versions of Pilates are taught today and the majority are based on up to nine principles which are adaptations of the original six principles; concentration, control, center, flow, precision, and breathing.
